Upcoming Opportunities for Rising Industry Leaders

A lot has happened with the Emerging Leaders Committee since I took over as Chairman in January.  The Emerging Leaders Network is offering more programming geared toward the industry’s leaders, including a new quarterly e-newsletter that highlights leadership tools and resources, an Annual Meeting breakout session sponsored by the Committee and more. I am particularly excited about two upcoming Emerging Leaders Network events.

One of our initiatives that is rapidly approaching is our fourth Leadership Development Program, beginning July 21. The six-month program includes a leadership training workshop at PMMI headquarters, a 360-degree feedback evaluation, a personalized leadership development plan and one-on-one coaching sessions.

Visit pmmi.org/emergingleaders if you would like to nominate a promising individual who consistently shows leadership potential and a commitment to career advancement, as they could significantly benefit from participation in the program. PMMI members are eligible for tuition reimbursement to supplement the cost of attendance.

My second reminder highlights the networking component of the Emerging Leaders Network. Did you hear about the can’t miss event during this year’s PACK EXPO Las Vegas? On Monday, Sept. 25 PMMI’s Emerging Leaders Network will host its annual PACK EXPO networking event at Topgolf Las Vegas. 

Located at the MGM Grand, this event is for the next generation in packaging and processing, and the perfect place to network with your peers, customers (which all of you reading this should plan on inviting) and friends. 

If you’ve never been to a Topgolf, this is your chance to check out what all the buzz is about. Part bar, part driving range competition, 100 percent fun. We’ll have 10 golf bays reserved, corn hole, open bar, food, music and more! Oh, and the bar at Topgolf doesn’t close until the wee hours of the morning, so once the event is over, you can stay there and keep networking. For those of you that choose to keep the party going, there will be a secret stash of Gatorade at the show the next morning to hydrate and be ready to go.
